OpenBuildings™ Station Designer Help

Platform Design Script

The Platform Design template script is comprised of two DGN files which are in the OpenBuildings Station Designer dataset extension in the path C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenBuildings CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Datasets\DatasetExtensions\Station_Designer\Seed\.

The first file contains the alignments and is referenced by the second file. This second file contains a script which places guiding geometry for platform design. It places geometry for the platform edge, the copers, and guiding lines for slopes, a polygon circumscribing the area in which the platform surfaces meet when they stay within the minimum and maximum slopes, and a line string where the surfaces with "ideal" slope would meet. The script file contains comments in the list of Transactions that provide additional information about the purpose of the respective subsequent sections of transactions.

File name Contents/purpose
PlatformAlignments.dgn
Contains a double set of track alignments. You need to identify which of those is the primary and the secondary alignment (which may be swapped at any time). These are the two alignments directly adjacent to the platform.
Platform Design Script.dgn
Contains a script that generates three sets of geometry. The first geometry set comprises guides for the geometry along the platform edges. The second set of geometry contains the copers along the two platform edges. The last set of geometry are guide lines delineating the slopes from the platform edge toward the center of the platform, the polygons circumscribed by those slopes and in which the slopes will need to meet in order to stay within the limits, and a line string indicating where the "ideal" sloped surfaces should meet. The one but last transaction in this script places an Export node that exports per user request (pressing the Export button on the node) the tunnel geometry to the file ExportedPlatformGeometries.dgn.
